Best AR Parts, Upper, and Lower Deals

Updated October 17, 2026

In a normal Title I build, the serialized lower receiver is the firearm and has to go through an FFL. An upper, a barrel, a handguard, a bolt carrier group, and a charging handle are parts. Retailers put them on the same sale page. A "complete rifle deal" and a "complete upper deal" can show similar percent-off numbers and totally different out-the-door costs, because one of them still needs the other half.

Match the gas system to the barrel length you already own. A pistol-length gas system on a 16 inch barrel is a specific choice, not a generic upper. Bolt carrier groups are not a place to celebrate the deepest percent off you have ever seen unless you know the maker. Small parts kits vary in what "kit" includes. Read the title for the words complete, stripped, and assembled.

Complete rifles are in the AR-15 guide. The live parts board is parts. Palmetto State Armory is the volume shop for this category. AR15Discounts runs daily parts deals. Brownells is the gunsmithing catalog. A Brownells card needs one current price under one old price. KYGUNCO is where an upper, a lower, or a small part shows up on sale.

Questions people ask

Which AR parts are easy to mis-compare?

Barrels, handguards, and bolt carrier groups. Length, profile, and whether the gas tube or the bolt is included change the product.

Is a blemished part a deal?

Sometimes. Read whether the shop is discounting a cosmetic blemish or a different specification. The card only lists a price we could read.
